  • Help America’s Children Get Off on the Right Foot for a Heart-Healthy Life– Support the FIT Kids Act Today

Childhood obesity has reached epidemic proportions, increasing our children’s risk of cardiovascular disease. Regular physical activity is critical to fighting back and ensuring a brighter, healthier future. The Fitness Integrated with Teaching Kids Act (FIT Kids) would amend the No Child Left Behind Act to help prioritize quality physical education in our schools. Join in our effort to urge Congress to pass this legislation to provide more physical education for our kids and help them lead healthier lives.

  • NFL Joins AHA on the Hill

It’s official! On March 19th, with the American Heart Association, local youth advocates and players from the National Football League (NFL) by their side, the sponsors of the Fitness Integrated with Teaching (FIT) Kids Act announced that the bill has been reintroduced in the 111th Congress and is ready for action

At an event held on the west lawn of the Capitol, Senator Harkin (D-IA) and Representatives Kind (D-WI), Wamp (R-TN), and Inslee (D-WA) sent a clear message to their fellow legislators: We must make the health of our kids a priority by passing the FIT Kids Act! View highlights from the event.

Now we need your help to make that a reality! Urge your Members of Congress to cosponsor the FIT Kids Act today.

After the conference, players led a group of nearly 100 area schoolchildren in a series of physical activities as part of NFL PLAY 60, which encourages kids to get 60 minutes of physical activity every day.
